“…without first invoking the blessings...”
As Masons we are taught that we do not enter any great or important undertaking without first invoking the blessings of Deity. Certainly, the Imperial Session of Shriners International and the Annual Meeting of Shriners Hospital for Children are both great and important undertakings; therefore prior to the 3:00 p.m. Official Opening of the Imperial Session, a non-denominational worship service will be held.
In addition to the former Shriners Hospital Patient, and Hospital Ambassador Kechi Okwuchi, a finalist on the popular television show, America’s Got Talent, other inspirational music will be provided by the Syria Chanters (Pittsburg, Pa) and Moolah Chanters (St. Louis).
Also, participating in the Worship Service are: M.W. Bobby Simmons, Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, and the 2018 Imperial Chaplain, as well as Illustrious Sir John Stanley, PP of Oasis Shriners and Past Imperial Chaplain. The Imperial Worship Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018, at the Peabody Auditorium, adjunct to Daytona’s Ocean Center Convention Center. The Opening of the Imperial Session is set for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, following the Worship Service.
What is the Peabody Auditorium? It is a 2,521-seat auditorium that attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually. A part of and convenient to the Ocean Center (just across the street!), the Peabody is ideal for the Shrine Worship Service, and it was the venue of the 2017 Worship Service in Daytona.
The service includes a memorial service for Shriners who have died in the past twelve months. Make plans now to attend the service, 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15.
